Real suede is the brushed inner split of a genuine leather hide. It has a soft matte nap, a slight two-tone shift when you run a hand across it, and it settles into a patina in the places you wear it most. Decrum's real suede line runs to trucker and bomber cuts plus a quilted style, each with a soft lining and a smooth zip front.

Faux Suede, Clearly Labeled

New to this collection: a faux suede line in soft synthetic microfiber with the same matte nap. It is not leather, and we never sell it as leather — every faux style carries the word in its product title. What it gives you is a lighter jacket that shrugs off a drizzle, wipes clean with a damp cloth, and sits at a much lower price, which makes it an easy first jacket or a second color you do not have to think about. Cuts and Colors

Real suede covers trucker and bomber cuts plus a quilted jacket, in light brown, brown, dark brown and black. Faux suede widens the range to biker, cafe racer, Harrington, hooded bomber, western-yoke and blazer styles in black, dark brown and light brown.

Fit and Sizing

Both lines are cut on the same patterns, with a modern close fit through the chest and shoulder. Measure your chest in inches and match it to the size guide rather than going by your usual label size. Caring for Suede

Real suede wants a suede brush, a protector spray and a dry closet. It is not waterproof, and a soaked nap needs to dry slowly, away from heat. Faux suede is far less fussy — a damp cloth and air drying is usually all it takes.
