Men's Light Brown Faux Suede Bomber Jacket

Holiday packing is what pushed me into buying something light and this rolled into a case without any drama. It came out looking fine after a brush. The light brown has a warm depth to it and the ribbing at the collar and cuffs is neat. It was warm enough for cool evenings and easy to carry in the day. I spent well under what I had budgeted for it.

Everyday jacket was the brief and this has been it since the day it arrived. It goes over a shirt for work and a jumper at the weekend and looks intentional either way. Usually I spend far too long deliberating over anything I buy and then regret it anyway, so I went with instinct this time. It has worked out better than most of my careful decisions. The light brown has a warm depth to it that changes pleasantly between daylight and lamplight. The ribbed collar, cuffs and hem are neatly finished and have kept their shape through constant wear. The surface is soft with a short even nap and a matte finish that does not shine. It is far lighter than it looks and there was no wearing-in period at all. Care has been nothing beyond a brush across the shoulders now and then. I have worn it four or five times a week since it arrived and it looks new. My brother assumed it was the designer one he has been saving for, which is more than double. It has replaced a jacket I had worn out of habit for years and I have not missed it once.

Original plan was to buy something in black and I went for the light brown at the last minute, which turned out to be the right call. The colour is deeper than the photos, so if you are expecting a pale sandy tone it is warmer than that. It suits me better this way. Light in every sense, both in colour and on the shoulders, which is why this has become the jacket I reach for by default. I stopped buying animal materials several years ago and had come to expect outerwear that looked obviously synthetic. This does not read that way at all.
