Statement jackets tend to sit unworn between the occasions that suit them. This one is light enough in soft faux suede to become the everyday pick instead. Light brown keeps the retro shape friendly — easy over jeans on a weekday and a dress at the weekend.

Excellent
The shipping was fast, no delays whatsoever. Jacket fits good, in 5'5 154 lbs for reference. Wish it was a bit more tapered going down the waist, other than that I have no complaints.

Ordered for my wife, who asked me to write this up since she's 'too busy'. Her routine so far: phone in the right pocket, Oyster card in the left, gloves stuffed in the third on cold mornings. She cycles to the station and says the snaps don't flap open in a headwind. Over a jumper it's fine down to about eight degrees; colder than that she switches to her wool coat. It packed flat into her carry-on for a weekend in Edinburgh. Her only gripe: it's a touch more beige than she expected from the photos. Otherwise a regular in her week.
I already own two Decrum pieces, a dark moto I wear to work and a long trench-style coat for winter, and what I was missing was something lighter and more playful for spring weekends. My old cotton bomber had faded and stretched out, so this one went into the basket after about a week of debating. Ordering was simple and it turned up at my door in Austin within the window promised, folded neatly in tissue. The shade is a soft fawn that glows almost golden late in the afternoon. Compared to my moto it's far more relaxed: rounded shoulders, elastic ribbed cuffs, and that striped knit collar that screams 1970s campus. Snaps close firmly. All three pockets are usable. Being microsuede it needs zero break-in, and a quick brush keeps the nap even. It has become what I grab for road trips and patio lunches. Three for three with this brand.
Never owned one of these before, so I went over every detail. The neckband has two narrow contrast bands woven in, and it lies flat instead of flipping up. Poppers fasten with a satisfying click. Each wrist gets a snug rib that keeps chilly air from sneaking in. Pockets: enough room for keys and a cardholder. Nap feels like velvet under the fingers. Sweet bomber, chuffed.
Bought this for my wife after she kept pausing on it every time we scrolled past it online, and I figured the animal-free version would suit her since she won't wear anything else, and when she tried it on in the kitchen she did a little spin and announced it was going straight into her autumn rotation, which it has, paired with a mustard scarf and brown boots most weekends, plus the ribbed cuffs keep the sleeves from sliding over her hands while she drives, so I'm counting it as a win and she's already hinting about a matching bag.
Light. Warm enough. Easy. That's my week in it so far. Wore it to the shops Monday, school run Tuesday, pub quiz Thursday. Poppers are quick with cold fingers. Wristbands grip, so no draught creeps up the sleeve. Pockets swallow keys, phone, lip balm. Reads biscuit indoors and goes golden under streetlights. Nice touch. One niggle: dog hair. Our spaniel sheds and every strand clings. Lint roller now lives by the door. Otherwise, sorted. Retro without looking like fancy dress. Knocked one off for the fluff magnet thing.
comfy. light. cute. wore it 4 days running. poppers easy. cuffs snug. stripe collar = vintage vibes. goes with my black jeans AND my green dress. pockets hold phone + keys. dog walks, coffee runs, work. no fuss, no break in needed. mum asked to borrow it already, said no lol, get ur own
yep, keeper. reasons: its so light i forget im wearing it, the striped neck band is adorable, and poppers mean i can dash out the door in two seconds flat. wear it on the commute into leeds and to friday drinks. one tiny moan, it smelled a bit like the factory for the first couple days so it hung by the open window for a bit, gone now. also the parcel arrived a bit squashed but nothing inside was harmed. colour is lovely warm toffee irl, maybe a touch lighter than online. would grab another in a different shade if they do one
My partner's old jacket was a shiny nylon thing that rustled every time she moved. This one is the opposite: quiet, soft to the touch, matte light brown with a striped knit collar. She wears it to the allotment and to Sunday lunch at her mum's alike. Poppers are faster than the old zip, and the cuffs keep wind out on the walk home. Proper upgrade.
Lifting the lid, the first thing I noticed was how little it weighed. Then the colour, a gentle fawn, nothing like the darker tones of my earlier Decrum order. Ran my hand over the nap: velvety, even. First outing was a gallery visit in Bath with cream trousers, and I felt very put-together. Third piece from them, and the most playful.
backstory: i spilled red wine on my old corduroy jacket at a wedding in june and it never recovered lol. been hunting for a replacement in a lighter neutral since. found this on a slow tuesday, ordered on my lunch break, took about a week and a half to arrive which was a little longer than i wanted but tracking was clear the whole time. first impression out of the mailer was wow its lighter than i thought, like barely-there light. colour is a sandy brown with a hint of gold. snaps are sturdy, the knit collar has these two little stripes that are SO retro, and the ribbed cuffs dont stretch out. ive worn it to work with black slacks and to the bar with a slip skirt and it works both ways. being extra careful with drinks this time haha. super happy, its exactly the vibe i wanted
Gave this to my daughter for her twenty-first; she asked me to post a review, so here's the tour. Starting at the top, the collar is a stretchy band with a pair of fine stripes running through it; it frames the neck nicely and gives the whole thing a varsity-meets-seventies look. Further down, the front fastens with press studs rather than a zip, which she prefers because it never catches on her necklaces. The cuffs are rib-knit and snug, so sleeves stay put when she's carrying shopping. There are three pockets, roomy enough for her mobile and purse; she says she can go out without a bag. The fabric itself has a fine, velvety nap and weighs very little, and because it's animal-free it suits her vegetarian principles. The light brown has a warm, slightly golden cast in sunshine and a softer biscuit tone indoors. Lovely quality for a gift.
ok who are you and what did you do with my sister' was literally the first text i got after posting a mirror pic in this lol. shes used to me in black everything. this is my third decrum order and def the most fun one, the other two are more classic. the shade is like a toasted honey brown and in daylight it looks SO good with white sneakers. the striped knit collar is the cutest detail, gives major 70s yearbook energy. snaps are snug, cuffs are stretchy but hold their shape, pockets fit my phone no problem. its super light so i can toss it in my bag when it warms up at lunch. only thing is it grabs lint from my car seats, keep a roller in the glovebox. but honestly obsessed, wore it 5 days straight and nobody at work minded (they were too busy asking where i got it)
Let me get the downside out of the way: the nap shows every swipe. Brush it against the grain, say with a seatbelt or a handbag strap, and you get a darker streak until you smooth it back. Not a defect, just the nature of the fabric, but worth knowing if you want something no-fuss. Now the good part, which is most of it. The silhouette is relaxed in a flattering, vintage way. The striped rib at the neckline is well knitted and doesn't curl. Snap closures feel solid; I've opened and closed them dozens of times and none has loosened. The ribbed wrists keep sleeves tidy when I'm typing. Colour-wise it's a creamy tan that photographs beautifully. I wear it most days to my office in Phoenix where the AC is brutal, and it's become my unofficial desk layer, a lot sharper than a cardigan. Four for the marking, but I'd pick it again.
Six weeks in, so here's an honest update on the one I gave my girlfriend for her birthday. She's worn it at least four days a week, including a soggy weekend in the Lake District, and the nap still looks even after a going-over with a suede brush. Press studs are as firm as day one, no loose threads at the cuffs, and the stripe on the collar hasn't bobbled. If I could tweak anything I'd add a zipped inner pocket for her travel card, but that's me nitpicking. She loves the retro vibe and wears it with everything.
Okay so I needed something between a sweater and a proper coat for those in-between weeks here in Chicago and this ticked every box, soft, feather-light, snaps up quickly when I'm running late, which is always, and the colour is this mellow toasty brown that somehow livens up my charcoal work pants, I've worn it to work, to a gallery opening and to my niece's soccer game and it looked right every time, plus nobody needs to know it took me thirty seconds to decide on it.
Daily notes after a month. Left pocket: car key and hair tie. Right: phone. Third: earbuds and a folded receipt or ten. Mornings around 50 degrees it's enough over a long-sleeve tee; below that I add a thin merino layer and it still closes over it. Flew to Denver with it rolled in my tote and it came out uncreased. This is my second purchase from Decrum and a totally different mood from my black biker, this one is weekend-easy. Light brown goes with every pair of jeans I own.
For six years my go-to spring layer was a stiff canvas utility jacket with brass buttons, four huge cargo pockets and a collar that never stayed flat. It did the job, but I always looked like I was about to go hiking. This replaced it in a single week. Where the canvas was rigid, the microsuede drapes and moves with me, and it's light enough that I barely notice it during a long day of errands. Snaps instead of buttons means I can open it one-handed while juggling a toddler and a grocery bag. Ribbed cuffs stay where I push them, unlike those old flappy sleeves. Three pockets is the right number. And the look is so much softer: a warm light brown, a knit neckline that nods to the seventies, a shape that works over a sundress or with leggings. My canvas one is now in the donate pile. No regrets.
Courier left it with next door, who were away till Sunday, so I waited an extra three days. Then the colour was a shade lighter than the photos. Minor. Anyway it's lovely: soft nap, cheery striped collar, poppers that stay put. Took it to Brighton on the train, sun came out over Haywards Heath, perfect timing for once. Wore it with white jeans. Keeping it, obviously.
Where did she find that?' A coworker of my girlfriend's asked me that at a barbecue, which tells you how it looks on her. It's the first jacket like this she's owned; she normally lives in hoodies. I was surprised how polished it is while still being casual. The tan warms up in evening sun, the rib knit at the neck has a retro striped pattern, and the snaps don't pop open when she reaches for something. She says it's comfier than any hoodie. I'll take the credit.
Best casual buy I've made this year. Three reasons. It sits between camel and honey, so navy, grey and black all pair without effort. The press-stud front is quicker than any zip when I'm dashing out with a coffee in one hand. And that knitted stripe at the collar adds a vintage flavour that makes plain outfits look considered. It weighs next to nothing, so it lives on the back of my office chair Monday to Friday and comes out for brunch at weekends. Good one.
Wore it to a Saturday farmers market in Portland, drizzle coming and going all morning. A quick shake and nothing marked. Stuffed a coin purse and a peach in the side pockets, snapped it shut when the wind picked up near the river. A vendor stopped me to ask where it was from. Comfy, done.
Opening the box, my daughter pulled it out and immediately held it against her cheek. The microsuede has this soft, almost peach-fuzz texture. The tone is a sandy tan, a touch paler than the website photos, which is the only reason I'm not giving full marks. She wore it that same evening to a college friend's birthday dinner with a white tee and wide-leg jeans, and the knit band around the neckline got two separate compliments. Snaps held through a windy walk to the parking garage. Happy mom, happy kid.
I bought this for weekends and ended up wearing it to work as well. It looks tidy enough with tailored trousers and relaxed enough with jeans. No stiffness anywhere, it moved with me from the first wear. Stitching and trims all look neat.
Light brown makes the retro shape feel friendly rather than costumey, which was my worry before ordering. The striped rib at the collar and the plain rib at the cuffs look well finished up close. It's soft and light and I've worn it constantly since it came. Goes with far more than I expected.
Got this as a surprise for my wife and she was delighted with it. She'd been saying her jackets were all too heavy to wear all day. This one apparently weighs almost nothing and she has had it on daily since. Ordering and delivery were both painless.
Gorgeous colour, warm and a little sandy rather than yellow. The snap front is easier than a zip when I'm carrying things. Fit is relaxed and it sits nicely over a fine knit. Arrived well packaged and on the date they said.
